Oakland Marriott City Center

I want to give a special shout-out to the hotel staff, and especially the restaurant staff. They are so friendly, responsive, and professional down to the smallest details. I rarely eat at hotel restaurants when I stay somewhere, but I went back three times because the service was so good there. And everyone I encountered at the front desks and housekeeping were so friendly and enthusiastically greeted me as I passed (even when I didn't need something). The property is good too--it has been renovated and, overall, the rooms are modern and comfortable. But the staff really stood out to me.

Bathrooms were clean but can use an overhaul (they are small, so it would be better to have a top quality shower stall instead of using up so much space on a small and uncomfortable bathtub).

We loved the comfortable bed and the room design. The hotel was located across the street from BART and was perfect for our trip to the airport. It was also located near lots of restaurants and stores.

My only dislike was the cost. It was comfortable and clean but the cost was higher than other similar hotels I have stayed in. Still, the convenience of its location was a plus.
