It is still a classic hotel but ...
The current construction seriously limits the capabilities of the hotel!
Standard King room was nice and clean and the furniture and general layout was very nice. Room facilities were what we expected so that was good. The Foyer and look of the hotel was pretty iconic and luxurious and the staff were were pretty good as well.. I popped into the gym to have a seek peek and it looked really nice with loads of cardio and free weights. Overall all pretty good
Really disappointed with the fact the iconic pool and surrounding areas had gone and were all being redeveloped! this had been going on a while but no one told us this when we booked with booking.com. Staff weren't that interested when I voiced my opinion and just said I could cancel if i want! Also the parking is expensive and we had to buy coffee at $10 each in the foyer. We have stayed at other 4 star hotels during our road trip and they provided free coffee.. Location wasn't great either if you didn't want to get your car out and pay tips etc.. We stayed at Loews in San Diego, Westin in Anaheim, Santa Barbara Inn in SB and Beacon Grand in SF and these were way more bang for your buck than this hotel i'm afraid...
Well located and comfortable room.
Valet parking only at $65.00 per day was excessive! We were unprepared for that price as it was not disclosed in the booking details. No coffee available in the room.
The location was fantastic and so were the rooms, the bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on.
