The location
The pillows smelt of body odour
The hotel itself is wonderful. It’s in a great location the waitresses in the restaurants for breakfast we’re really friendly and very willing to stand and talk to the guests and the ladies who clean the rooms were also very friendly and we’re always willing to say hello to all the guests
Well, where do I start on this situation? When we arrived to our suite? We found out that the air-conditioning was not working and we found the reception staff not to be very helpful. They said that they would get us another suite and they were said that it would be about half an hour to an hour to be ready. We waited in our room all afternoon waiting for them to call us or which they said they would do but we had to go down to reception and get them to change our room and then when we entered our new room, everything in the suite was smaller than in our previous room so I paid top money to be put into a smaller room we have been going to this hotel for many years and on every other occasion the hotel and the rooms have been fantastic but on this occasion the service from reception to the room was not the best service we’ve ever had and this is not related to our stay but on previous occasions we have been to the Sonora Grill and we have been told on many occasions that the restaurant is not part of the hotel but it is in the lobby area of the hotel so you think the hotel would tell the company that they should give discounts to hotel guests who wish to go into their restaurant
Huge hotel with all modern expected services. Felt like a premium hotel. Great baggage portering. Convenient for attractions of historic centre. Comfy beds. Well appointed rooms. Professional housekeeping. Small pool. Premium rooms with executive lounge with free breakfast in the morning and free buffet dinner between 6&8pm. Complimentary minibar soft drinks.
For such an international hotel it was a surprise that only around 30% of staff I interacted with spoke English well enough to take room service orders or deal with other issues by phone. This caused some frustration at times. Laundry was not processed as “there was no credit on the account” requiring a visit to reception to “open a credit line” on the account. This took some time. Usually in my experience this is done at check in automatically. The photo of the pool is one of the most creative uses of a wide angle lens in the history of photography. The absence of other items or people that might otherwise provide a sense of scale contributes to that effect. Nevertheless the kids enjoyed a splash about there. You can’t easily swim in it. We requested interconnecting rooms, one with a king and one with two doubles. We got one with a king on the 11th floor and one with a king on the 3rd floor which just made everything more complicated with children to manage.

Starbucks staff downstairs were endearing and friendly. Hotel in general has a nice vibe. The breakfast was great.
My first room ac didn't work, the phone didn't work, the drain was clogged. I asked to change rooms. My second room had great ac and a nice view, but I could NEVER get the shower to do anything but be burning hot or way too cold. Since I'd already changed rooms, I didn't want to complain again but it was very uncomfortable to never be able to take a normal shower. Also, the communication with the maids was sub-par. When I tried to simply ask for a new towels through the downstairs desk, my request was never followed through on. The hotel is definitely better suited for Spanish speakers. Another suggestion, I almost fell in the shower. Most hotels supply a rubber mat for safety's sake.
The breakfast is excellent and the bathrooms of the rooms seem to have been renovated.
The rooms are extremelly outdated and feel that they should be more cleaned.
The beds were extraordinarily comfortable and the location couldn't be better.
Nothing!
