Modern and new
The location was nice. Hotel was clean
The suicide window was unsettling, wouldn't take much for a kid to open that and tumble 20 stories, the rooms are way to small, no comfort for relaxing after a day in the city. The shower has good water pressure but makes a mess since there is no shower door.
The view from the rooms is incredible! Really the best way to wake up! The rooms are also spacious.
The payments were not seamless and we were overcharged accidentally and holds were placed on the card which made transacting in the city difficult. Sorting it out was not seamless and the temporary manager was not helpful. It would be nice to have a kettle + tea/coffee in the rooms.
The rooms were on the small side to be honest. I stayed in a Premium King and although it was enough for me, I would have thought it would be more spacious. Room had floor to ceiling windows which let a lot of light in. Good shower products and the bed was comfy.
The carpet look is a bit dated and it's in a royal blue..... I arrived and my original room had aircon issues so I was downgraded for 1 night before they moved me into another room (not ideal). What I have issue with most is the egregious 'resort tax' they slap on top of the initial amount and when asked what does this cover, they said bottled water, Wi-Fi and gym. Little did I know that it only covered bottled water on the first night! sorry, but this is unacceptable, you charge people extra for items that actually should be free. In other countries, hotels provide water and wifi and use of gym as complimentary - why do we have to pay for this in New York? it's not like the gym is any better. In fact, this is a despicable way for the hotel to accrue more revenue from customers without the third party site taking a larger percentage of the cut. Look up the definition of 'resort' and New York hotels do not come under this. What makes it a resort? it doesn't even have a swimming pool.
