Every thing brilliant hotel
Nothing
It was clean and comfortable and not too far from the city centre. The breakfast itself was OK but nothing to write home about. However the Breakfast staff in the Breakfast Room were excellent, very helpful, attentive and respectful.
The restaurant meal again was OK but nothing special. However I had my Guide Dog with me and we were initially offered a table away from other customers where tables were not prepared for use while lots of other tables were. I told the waiter that or bill was to be added to my room bill, I was called back and asked to present my credit card which had been registered with the hotel reception for such occassion. I said again but was assured that it was procedure and that the card would not be charged but it was which lead to the embarrassment of checking with reception when checking out the next morning. I was not charged twice but still, I was not impressed.
Room is spacious. Don't hear any noise from hallway or next rooms. Lots of parking, staff were attentive. Complimentary biscuits, tea, coffee and bottled water.
Room needs a good dose of tlc. Bathroom door was difficult to close. Sink plug was stuck closed, clearly was a problem as both rooms had dents in the sink plug where they'd had to get them unstuck. Room was very stuffy even though it hadn't been hot in the day and windows were open.
Breakfast staff were lovely and breakfast was definitely a good hit with he coffee machines! Liked the touch of different biscuits in the room to have with tea etc Restaurant was good
The swimming pool was separate to the hotel and you had to pay for it. I actually wouldn't have minded paying but we asked to pay for two adults and a child at a 7 or 8am slot. We were told children go free so we packed the child up with his swim bag and when we arrived at the pool it was very apparent that actually it's an adult only place. There were lanes out and clubs swimming up and down competitively. It's very hard when a kid is standing there in his trunks to tell him he actually can't get in because it's extremely unsafe for a kid. The reception staff saw our small child and "booked him in". Strongly believe she could have gently steered us away or recommended a quieter time as we thought we had selected a quote time and were raging we rushed the lovely breakfast for nothing so we just checked out really early then Restaurant was like a hot box and room was very warm too, wouldnt have slept if it wasn't for the fan and the window open although always some level of noise when you leave the window open so not ideal but it worked thankfully!
