The staff was very attentive and the property was beautiful. It was also very well located to the main beach. We were able to walk around the area and really enjoy ourselves for the most part.
The food at the resort was terrible, it ended up making me nauseous for the whole week and turning me off of food completely. The drinks were incredibly watered down, even the straight tequila seemed diluted. We were also immediately approached upon check in to sit through a sales presentation the following morning for a vacation club and no was an answer they wouldn't take. Our room amenities were basic and we unfortunately woke up to sounds of construction right next door every single morning along with a repungent, sewer like smell in the hallway. Our mattress felt incredibly old and definitely needed to be replaced. I'd personally go back to Playa del Carmen and stay in the same area but at another hotel due to the above reasons.
The events held on the property, the location, the beach out front, the comfortable bed, the shower pressure and the buffet options
The pressure to buy into their club deal and the musky smell in the bedroom
110 yard pool , clean rooms , quiet smaller resort
The staff are rude , dont value you , every department walks by and never says hello , frowned upon if you dont upgrade to premium for top shelf alcohol.
The omlette station was excellent.
Buffet dishes were cold (warmers would help). The morning hostess had difficulties with our party of 5 (four adults, one toddler) insisting daily she couldn't seat us all at one table, when other families of five were clearly seated - we insisted, and she finally showed us to an available table. This happened nearly every day. For so e reason she did not like us. Many guests requested that the volleyball net be left up, and the activity centre guy said "maybe later" but never did. We did not need a staff member to join us for volleyball.
