Welcome to the sun-kissed city of Miami, a playground of beaches, culture, and entertainment! Our journey began in Newark, where we set off for Miami with the excitement of a new adventure bubbling inside us. Our flight was slightly delayed due to some technicalities, but the convenience of the Newark Liberty International Airport and the ease of domestic travel made the journey seem like a breeze. As the sights of Miami came into view, our anticipation for the upcoming days only grew stronger.
After landing, we swiftly made our way to Global Luxury Suites in Miami Beach. Nestled among the lively energy of Miami Beach, this hotel provided us the perfect base with its clean and modern amenities. The room tour revealed a quaint and cozy environment complete with a queen-size bed, a functional bathroom, and a view of the swimming pool inviting us for a quick swim. Although not the most scenic view, the comfort and hospitality made up for it, creating a warm welcoming start to our Miami visit.
Miami is a haven for food lovers, and our dinner at Xixon was a testament to the city's rich culinary landscape. Known for its authentic Spanish fare, Xixon offers a delightful assortment of dishes that transport your taste buds straight to Spain. Our meal showcased a tapestry of flavors, with dishes like roasted pumpkin soup, spring salad with goat cheese, and even an adventurous twist with octopus. Each bite was a celebration of taste—a melody of flavors that left us yearning for more. Dining here was not just a meal; it was an experience—a must-visit for any foodie visiting Miami.
Strolling along Alton Road later in the evening, we soaked in Miami's vibrant pulse. Known for its eclectic mix of shops and lively atmosphere, Alton Road did not disappoint. It was here that we discovered Sabor Liquors, a quaint store that offered an impressive array of wines and spirits, capturing the charm of an Italian enoteca. The surroundings further enticed us, with a movie night happening atop a nearby parking garage and a lively party lending the evening a festive feel. Though we didn't find the CVS we were searching for, the journey provided a delightful exploration of Miami's nocturnal charm.
Reflecting on the day, Miami proved itself to be much more than just a stopover before our cruise. The lively ambiance, complemented by impeccable tastes and friendly company, turned this pre-cruise day into an unforgettable chapter. With notable highlights like our dinner at Xixon and the spontaneous discoveries along Alton Road, Miami showcased all its facets—from serene to exhilarating. It set the perfect tone for a cruise-filled adventure ahead. As we look forward to tomorrow's embarkation, we leave the day behind feeling grateful and content, knowing that Miami has its own special way of making lasting memories.
