During our brief stay in Maui, we decided to skip the usual run to Costco and opted for a more localized shopping experience at Times Market. We were there for just five days, so we wanted to enjoy some of our favorite island treats and make the most of our time. Picking up Maui onion chips, POG, and local macadamia nuts is always a must. The taste of a pineapple on this island is unmatched anywhere else! With each item, we curated a little slice of paradise.
Desserts are a big part of our travels, and in Maui, we never pass up a visit to Leoda's Kitchen and Pie Shop. Their array of pies makes it hard to choose, so we always get a selection including banana cream, chocolate macnut, and key lime. Another hidden gem we discovered was Poppy's Bakery, famed for their massive cinnamon rolls. Arriving early is a must if you want to snag one of these soft and flaky delights before they sell out.
After a day of exploring, a cozy dinner at Leilani's On The Beach completes the perfect day. Originally considering Roy's for a fancy dinner, we chose the former due to mixed reviews, and we were glad we made this choice. Leilani's offers a cozy ambiance with a view that’s perfect for watching the sun dip below the horizon. The blend of delicious seafood and the serene sound of waves provides an unforgettable dining experience.
For a laid-back culinary experience, Coconuts Fish Cafe serves up some of the best fish tacos paired with a burst of mango salsa. Meanwhile, for those in need of a caffeine fix, Kraken Coffee offers delightful blends like their mocha, a perfect pick-me-up during our leisurely afternoons. Not to be overlooked, Tamura's Fine Wine & Liquors impresses with fresh poke that’s irresistibly buttery and flavorful. Finally, no trip would be complete without a pit stop at an ABC Store, where quick munchies like chocolate macadamia nuts can be conveniently stored for beach-side snacking.
