Our adventure began in Athens, where we boarded a ferry headed for the picturesque island of Paros. Known for its traditional charm and vibrant culture, Paros was our destination of choice for a week-long getaway. The ferry ride from Athens to Paros is an adventure in itself, taking roughly three hours. With ticket prices ranging from $73 in economy to $125 in platinum, there's a comfortable option for every budget. The journey starts off a bit choppy, but soon you'll find yourself gliding smoothly towards blue waters and stunning sunsets.
As we awaited the opening of the ferry port, the tantalizing aroma from a nearby Greek restaurant filled the air. The menu boasted a variety of appetizers, seafood, and grilled specialties, alongside refreshing Greek yogurt with a lemon twist. This culinary experience set the stage for a week filled with mouthwatering delights. Later, on the island of Paros, we dined at Tivera Marajio, a charming establishment known for its traditional Mediterranean fare. From savory lamb shanks to delectable musaka, the menu left us spoilt for choice. Pairing these dishes with a glass of local wine made for unforgettable food memory.
Upon arriving in Paros, our home for the week was Anna Platana, a cozy hotel that welcomes guests with its picturesque front and comfortable amenities. Although our room was modest, it had everything we needed to unwind after a day exploring the island. With rooms starting at just over $130 a night, Anna Platana offers budget-friendly lodging while maintaining a charming atmosphere. For those eager to explore, the accommodation's proximity to local attractions makes it an excellent base for adventures around Paros.
Our days on Paros were filled with strolls through quaint streets, stunning sunsets over crystal-clear waters, and evenings of thoughtful planning for tomorrow’s adventures. The island exudes a relaxed vibe that encourages you to take things slow and truly savor each moment. Whether you're wandering through charming villages or lounging by the beach, Paros promises a getaway that blends serenity with the charm of Greek island life. Opting for long dinners and festive nights, our group of eight found the balance between exploration and relaxation.
As our journey in Paros drew to a close, we found ourselves grateful for the adventures and culinary delights that filled our days. This family-oriented and foodie-centered vacation was everything we dreamed of and more. Encouraged to explore more of Greece's enchanting islands, we left Paros with plans to return. If you enjoy discovering new flavors or simply lounging in beautiful settings, Paros is the destination for you. Stay tuned for our next escapade, promising new locations and unforgettable experiences.
