Discover the Hotel National des Invalides, now home of the musee de l'Armee. Walk through the collections of the museum, at your own pace, and immerse into over 500, 000 pieces from the Middle Ages to present day.
Step into the heart of Paris and integrate into the History of France at the Hotel National des Invalides. Created by Louis, XIV to house veterans and wounded soldiers, the hotel national is now also the home of the musee de l'Armee.
Admire the world-renowned gilded Dome, which has been, since 1861, the resting place of Napoleon. Explore the collections and wander through the armor and weapons of the kings of France. Gaze around at swords, cannons, uniforms, paintings, photographs, and personal belongings of France's major figures.
Look beyond the artifacts, and participate in an interactive digital experiences with devices that allow visitors to get a better understanding of some of the battles that forged the country's history.

• You can access the site from the Esplanade des Invalides from 10 AM to 6 PM and from Place Vauban from 2 PM to 6 PM

• The museum admission is free for those under 18 years of age and for EU citizens under 26 years but they will need a ticket to enter, but please note that an access pass must be collected from the museum office before entering.
• Be aware that the tills will close 30 minutes before the museum closes

Es gab wesentlich mehr zu sehen, als wir erwartet hatten, daher waren wir am Ende total erschöpft. Die Ausstellung ist sehr umfangreich und weitläufig. Am besten hat uns der Teil der Ausstellung vom Anfang bis vor etwa 1900 gefallen. Hier gab es faszinierende Exponate zu bestaunen. Die Ausrüstungen nach 1900 brachten nur wenig Abwechslung, waren aber teilweise sehr interessant. Die zwei Weltkriege wurden sehr intensiv behandelt und es wurde der Eindruck erweckt, als hätte es nur diese zwei Kriege auf der Welt gegeben. Nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg war die Ausstellung zu Ende. Gerne hätten wir noch etwas über die Zeit nach 1945 erfahren. Die Epoche fehlte gänzlich.
