Brilliant guilds, funny and informative and well worth the money
Talking about the Astronomy with a small audience. May I suggest more lighting when walking from the coach to the location.
There was an introduction to astronomy, basically about recognizing stars and constellations, in particular the Southern Cross, for navigation. There was also some interesting stories in relation to the stars, as well as how Australian aboriginal people time there hunting activities by the position of stars at various times of the year. I had also enjoyed peeking through a professional telescope at the moon and stars. Finally there was also a photo session for everyone joining the astro tour. Overall it was educational to average people.
We really enjoyed this tour! We could see a lot of stars and the moon and a tour guide explained stars, it was interesting. But while you listen to the guide, it’s getting colder, so you should bring worm clothes.
Excellent star tour! The bus took us out to a spot in the park with no light pollution, maybe 20 minutes drive from the resort and 5 hours from the nearest town with wide open skies in the desert. They had blankets and folding benches to use while we watched the stars and the guide explained different constellations and the stories and uses behind them for native people as well as some science about the galaxy and stars and used a laser pointer to help show different stars and constellations. It was the perfect amount of storytelling/science and time to just watch them. A couple hours out there, maybe three hours including transport. The stars and milky way were spectacular, we were lucky that the moon wasn't out too but obviously they can't control that. The telescopes weren't as exciting but you could see a few nebulas/clusters with them. Guides were very knowledgeable for answering questions. The included photo with the professional camera turned out great too!
Brilliant! Not only did we see lots of stars and planets we also saw a shooting star and some space junk hit earth. The presenter was very knowledgeable and an all-round nice bloke.
