Tips
We aim to show you the very best art at the Met. However, what’s on display can vary, so if an art piece we typically show isn’t available, your guide will substitute it with something else.
The Cantor Roof Garden is typically open from mid-April through October. In winter and early spring, the tour won’t include this stop.

Jett did a great job with our tour. His knowledge and enthusiasm for the Met were greatly appreciated!
Our guide, Alex, was absolutely brilliant! The tour covered a great selection of pieces from across the museum. Alex was really passionate about them all and able to tell great stories and interesting anecdotes about all of them. I could listen to him say ‘hippopotamus’ all day! The tour was with about 10 people which was just about right. Alex managed it so we weren’t competing with other tours for space. The two hours was just about right. Would recommend!!
Alex was an excellent guide. He was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and kind. I enjoyed the tour immensely.
Top of the top of the top
The guide Alex is very friendly, polite, and clearly knows his art, but the museum is very large, and we saw very little with him because he spent about 5 to 10 minutes talking about some of the works of art. He could have given a more concise description of each work, like 2 to 3 minutes. That way we could have seen more art and the tour would have been less tiring.
The tour covered a lot of the MET, which is simply magnificent, but it was quite stressful as you only had very little time (one to two minutes) for each room. However, you could explore the MET on your own after the tour and take a closer look at some things. Overall, the tour provided a great overview.
Everything was great, the guide was very knowledgeable! A must-do when visiting New York.
