After a 45-minute drive south from Perth (PLEASE NOTE city ups are between 7:45 and 8:15am) to Shoalwater Marine Park (If you don't require transport, meet time at Shoalwater Bay is 9am), a beautiful bay with several limestone islands. We introduce people to each other and the equipment. We use easy-to-paddle double kayaks with waterproof compartments.
Our first paddle is to Seal Island, approximately 1 kilometer away, where we will look at Australian Sea Lions. Under the conditions usually experienced (light easterly breeze), this section will take about 15 minutes.
Next, we paddle approximately 2 kilometers (about 30 minutes) to Penguin Island, where we land for a guided nature walk before sitting down to enjoy an excellent picnic lunch.
After this, people can fall asleep under a tree or in the sun, snorkel, swim, do some more kayaking, or explore the coast and caves of the island. We usually take people on a nature walk around the island to discover the many and varied shellfish, starfish, crabs, sea birds (including a Pelican Colony), lizards, dolphins, and great views of the bay.
Around 2:30 pm we muster for the return to Australia, often rafting the boats up and sailing back if the winds are right. This is a distance of approximately 2.5 kilometers.
After packing the gear and changing into dry clothes (there is a toilet block at the start/finish point), we drive back to Perth, arriving around 4:30 p.m.

It was excellent and well planned. The guides who accompanied us were really friendly, kind and helpful. They offered great insights on the area and guided us really well on the kayak. The morning tea with crackers and salsa was something new and interesting that the tour operator had come up with 🙂! Really enjoyed the whole trip and would highly recommend it!
A great day. We met in the carpark by the beach and were given double kayaks which suited me and my wife. Everything g you need is provided. We kayaked out to Seal Island which took about 15 mins as the sea was very calm. You cannot go in the island as it’s protected but we saw many sea lions in the beach. Then onto Penguin island….again not too long a kayak due to great weather conditions. Once on Penguin island, we had a guided tour and then a fabulous picnic lunch before heading off on our own for 90 minutes f To do as we pleased. We went snorkelling which was great and went up to the various lookout points. A beautiful island. We the. Kayaked back to the mainland to finish outlet trip. To note, we did not see any fairy penguins as they were all off the island fishing which is normal throughout the daytime. It is unlikely you will see the penguins but the trip is still worth doing. Very good day 👍
The guide was very good, friendly and knowledgeable. The day was good and kayaking was fun. The lunch was fine and the transportation was quite old and rickety.
We had a lovely day out - nice paddling and lots to see. Thanks!
Pick point was excellent and Jo was courteous calm and very kind . She talked us through the trip and pointing out interesting facts . Lunch was great and very welcome 👍👍👍
This tour is absolutely great value and I loved every single minute of it! The pick-up and drop-off service in Perth was friendly and convenient. Kayaking to the island and seeing different animals was so much fun. They also provided well-prepared snacks and a very nice picnic lunch. The guide was very friendly and the whole experience was excellent. I will definitely join again! Thanks so much for everything☀️
Good
Bus was late with no communication or explanation as to why. Penguin Island had no penguins. No instruction on how to kayak despite that some members had no experience. Did not feel safe during swim-snorkelling as no safety measures in place to check group. Poor experience overall and could not possibly recommend to anyone.
