Great time at Chitwan National Park and seeing some animals in the wild. Lovely hotel with attentive and friendly staff. Only bad thing is the 7 hour drive from Kathmandu
The Chitwan safari was a fantastic experience. The accommodation at the Parkland Hotel deserves special mention, with its friendly staff and excellent organization. Coordination between the hotel and the safari agency ran smoothly, ensuring that all the itineraries were well coordinated. My guide was excellent – personable, sociable, entertaining, and very knowledgeable about the national park's flora and fauna. However, the safari is very touristy, as everyone gets the same program regardless of the provider. The Tharu dance performance on the last evening was interesting, but not really necessary. Furthermore, the bus ride from Kathmandu to Chitwan was quite tiring, and the bus crew sometimes lacked clear communication. Nevertheless, it was an overall well-organized tour with impressive natural scenery and exciting wildlife sightings. Anyone who can accommodate themselves to the touristy nature of the tour will have an unforgettable time!
Wonderful moments seeing the animals, being in the jungle for me is a real joy, The hotel is also simple, very relaxing I loved my stay. The food was excellent. Most of the things were homemade so very good point. The staff is exceptional. They take great care without overdoing it I will come back for sure!
excellemt
River cruise and cultural show were standouts. The bus ride in is an experience but consider flying out, to save time.
The safari walk was thrilling and fun.
Jeep safari was nice, canoe and walk as well but a bit short, it would have been nice to have more time for these. We also briefly pass by the elephant breeding center, which are in chain. It would be nice propose way to just see elephants in the wild instead. Pick up and drop off was easy. Bus ride late but normal maybe.
I booked the tour from Pokhara, and the return trip to Kathmandu was no problem. Bus tickets for the public tourist bus were included. The pick-up in Pokhara was also organized, but the taxi driver arrived at 6:20 a.m. (that's what he was told) and I was told 6:00 a.m. via the app. I would have preferred a more personal contact. The bus left at 7 a.m. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and accommodating, the food was very good. The jungle hike and the canoe trip were good, but I personally liked the safari in the jeep much better. Our guide explained a lot and pointed out animals. A small negative point was the room, because it was in need of a bit of renovation. But all in all, I would highly recommend the tour and book it again!
