Enjoy an adventure at the Columbia Icefield Discovery Center. Get a guided tour around the Athabasca Glacier on Ice Explorer, admire the stunning mountains and glaciers and listen as your guide informs you of all the facts and history.
Meet your guide, who will take you to the Athabasca Glacier. At the scheduled time, board your Ice Explorer, a massive vehicle designed explicitly for glacial travel, and set off on an exciting ride.
During your ride, hear stories and facts about the Columbia Icefield and the glaciers around you. Once on the Glacier, hop off the vehicle to walk on the thick, 25,000-year-old ice and drink cold, pure water from the glacier itself. This is an experience you will never forget.
Then, take a short ride to the Columbia Icefield Skywalk. Heighten your senses by walking on a platform where only glass separates you from a 918-foot (279-meter) drop. Marvel at the spectacular views of the mountains, glaciers, and the Sunwapta River with its waterfalls.

Ice field glacier walk was fun
Our trip was great. The only thing is that it would’ve been better if the price was not as high for the time spent on the glacier. But the experience is great, Bark was THE best guide, made us laugh, great attitude, knowledgeable. Thank you!

Param and Ana were the best guides on this day long adventure! We were absolutely mesmerized by the Athabasca Glacier! Being from Texas, this was definitely a first for us (walking on an ice-field)! The guides were so patient in taking endless photos and were very happy to share the coolest facts about the beautiful lakes we visited. We all agreed that Peyto Lake was our favorite. It really looks like a wolf’s head from above. Thanks for helping make some lovely memories!!

Captain and Genie from Manchester were both amazing in knowing the history of the area. Great job at sharing your knowledge with us. Good luck with your future endeavors.
Jason was very good in transporting us to the glacier park. He provided informative data as he was driving. He’s interacting with the guests and he’s very jolly!
The guides were great especially the driver. Very knowledgeable. But the title of the trip is misleading. It really should include the tickets for skyview and the ice explorer, why else would someone go to the attraction?
