Wonderful tour of the French Quarter! Teenage sons enjoyed it too.
One of the best activities we did in New Orleans. Highly recommend it. Praline was awesome!
Wife 1: Guide was so knowledgeable and fun and accommodating. Wife 2: Well that was awesome, amazing guide, so interesting and enjoyable, a fantastic experience for our family. Kid 1: Very fun, loved the ghost stories and our mule Erma. Kid 2: We learned so much from the carriage ride I feel like a local now.
I came to New Orleans to see the sites and the beauty of the French Quarter. I booked a carriage ride because I thought it was a good idea so that I can see the area quicker and be away from the crowd. The tour guide in the beginning was OK later he commented on genocide the holocaust and slavery a lot. It was a total of three couples myself included, which were all of mixed races. he talked and make jokes about Jews and Hispanics and blacks. It was uncomfortable. I believe he was trying to connect with the audience, but I was not there to talk about racism. I was there just to find out about the history of New Orleans I definitely could’ve really cared less about who were slave owners or not. He even talked about laws preventing biracial marriages. He was talking to another couple, but did not realize that I was of biracial descent. He made a very uncomfortable repeatedly bring up race topics again. I don’t think it was his intent, but it was very uncomfortable.
Irma the mule and Harry’s personalized experience not being a NOLA native. His rich history and knowledge of the area.
The good stories about the foot were great.
