Meet your guides at the boat launch at Santa Barbara Harbor, where they outfit everyone in paddle jackets and PFDs. Guides will give a basic paddling demonstration and safety talk before setting out on the water.
The launch is easy, right out of the boat launch. This is a great introductory lesson to kayaking or a nice relaxing kayak for more experienced paddlers.
Once on the water, paddle approximately 1-2 miles along the coast surrounded by beautiful beaches and marine life. The group will continue through the harbor, paddling past boats, through the historic wharf, under the pier, out to buoys, and along the beach.
Keep a look out for wildlife along the way such as harbor seals, sea lions, brown pelicans, sea stars, cormorants, and seagulls.
Guides will offer insight into the history of the region as well as local marine ecology. Enjoy a relaxed pace and incredible marine life as well as taking in the views of Santa Barbara from the water.

Had a great time on our kayak adventure and Johnny helped make it interesting talking thru all kinds of details all while navigating a fun path for us to follow
We had a lovely time out on the water today. Our guide Spencer was very patient with our delayed arrival (tip: don’t go to Stearns wharf directly at the crossing of State streets and Cabrillo. Instead go to the harbor which is a little further north up the beach) and gave us a very fun, informative tour. We got details on SB’s history, the history of the harbor a,d marina, and info on local fauna as we came across them. We didn’t encounter any problems or accidental dunking but I’m sure Spencer could have hand,ed whatever came up. Highly recommend this tour and this guide.
Nora is a great guide! Thank you for showing us Santa Barbara from the water perspective, for sharing all these interesting details, and for keeping us safe!
We had a great time wildlife kayaking! It was a fun experience, and our guide was excellent—very knowledgeable about marine biology and eager to share interesting facts along the way. Highly recommend!
We had a beautiful trip around Santa Barbara Harbor with Spencer. He is very charming and funny, at the same time provided us with knowledge and confidence to score the open ocean, see the sea lions and come back safely. I definitely can recommend experience with him! Honestly, he is just the best and deserves a raise!
My guide, Austin, was excellent. He shared knowledge of the area, kayaking skills, and the birds and mammals in the area.
Nice experience Good briefing from the guide
Guide was excellent, he was very informative and engaging. Knew a lot about the local wildlife and the region itself. Also very accommodating and helpful. Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish.
The tour was really fun. We saw seals sea lions and a lot of cool birds. Our guides Dario R. and Josh B. had some really cool facts about the area. I would definitely book a tour with them again.
