Begin your journey at Pier C in the Terreiro do Paço ferry terminal, just steps from Lisbon’s majestic Commerce Square. After a warm welcome and safety briefing, your crew explains how the Tagus River enabled ancient Phoenician and Roman settlers to develop the city of Olisipo.
As the catamaran heads west along the river, enjoy views of Commerce Square and Cais das Colunas that once welcomed royal visitors—and the surrounding Baixa Pombalina district rebuilt after the 1755 earthquake.
Soon after leaving the downtown area, the boat offers a panoramic glimpse of the Sé Cathedral and the rooftops of Alfama. The cruise then continues toward Belém, where you’ll enjoy a front‑row view of Belém Tower, the UNESCO‑listed 16th‑century fortress whose Manueline façade looks especially striking from the water.
Next comes the Monument to the Discoveries, a monumental prow‑shaped tribute to Portuguese explorers, kings, and poets. Your guide shares stories of the caravels that departed from these shores during the Age of Discovery.
Continuing past the Jerónimos Monastery, glide by the MAAT and the Centro Cultural de Belém, two contemporary landmarks that contrast beautifully with the historic skyline. Use your tablet’s augmented‑reality features to see how these buildings and the riverfront looked in centuries past.
Before sailing under the impressive 25 April Bridge, look south toward the imposing statue of Cristo Rei; hear how this monument commemorates Portugal’s survival during World War II.
As you pass beneath the bridge, the boat slows down to offer prime photo opportunities of the 25 April Bridge itself and the dramatic span across the river. On the return toward the city center, admire again the silhouette of the Sé Cathedral and the rooftops of Alfama.

Wow! Our river cruise was truly amazing. We chose this one as we wanted to guarantee that we were sat outside and not indoors looking through a window (some of the other bigger boats only allow 52 passengers on the open top deck). It exceeded expectations as the staff were so polite, friendly and willing to help in any way they could. The boat was lovely and clean too. Also, got a choice of drinks which was a nice touch. If you are looking for a river cruise then book this one, you won’t be disappointed.

This is definitely one of the best sightseeing boat tours in Lisbon and a must-do activity when visiting the city.
My boyfriend and I had an incredible boat cruise with LisbonFlow. They are a relatively new boat tour operator and the afternoon boat tours are a new introduction after their successful sunset tours. We took the tour at 3pm on a Sunday with just one other couple. We chose this tour as it promised no more than 30 people and we ended up having the entire boat for just the four of us plus two crew members! It was an incredibly personalised experience. The boat was comfortable and clean. There was a toilet, comfy seating, beanbags on the upper deck, and plenty of sun and shade depending on where you chose to sit. The service was great, we were given port tonics and the guys chatted to us about what we could see and offered to tell us more if we wanted. An incredible trip with beautiful views and well worth the price.

I was contacted privately by the company prior to the cruise to confirm which was nice. We had a great time. There was an open bar & the white wine was delicious. We had a commentary the whole way & all our questions were answered. We did this on the day of our arrival & it was a good way to acclimatise ourselves to the city. I would highly recommend this cruise as it was a small boat so it was very personal.
