Beautiful And close to everything I wanted to do.. loved having the restaurant there for ease.
The toilet was broken and the tub was clogged :(
The greeting at the front desk by Kyle was excellent. Kyle was extremely professional while also being relaxed and fun. My wife and I really enjoyed the entire experience and will definitely be back!
The ice machine was broken and we had to visit the restaurant next door to request some ice. Not a big issue, and the restaurant staff were very accommodating. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed a good portion of the time that we were there. Definitely not a deal breaker, but we thought that alternative ice sources might have been a good idea.
The location was beautiful and the grounds and view from our window was lovely. We couldn't believe how quiet it was - we were thinking for an old building we would hear every noise. We heard NOTHING from our room. It was so peaceful and quiet. The restaurant next door was really nice and the bartender was great! Fantastic cocktails! (we only had a drink and oysters, which were excellent too, so I cannot comment on a full meal). The staff at the House were friendly and accommodating. Our bed was very comfy. It was so difficult to leave!
Our room was upstairs in the main House with outdoor access. The outdoor staircase was a bit steep and it got icy in the morning. A bit treacherous, but that's Mother Nature at work. Thankfully there was an interior staircase as well which was safer.
We were on our honeymoon and were made to feel very welcome. The bottle of wine was a nice touch too. We loved our bay window with view of the gorgeous gardens. Some deer came to graze on our first morning - a magical experience. The food at the restaurant was really good, and the staff were lovely. Joe was very sweet providing us with tips for our visit to the area.
We only stayed for two nights so wasn’t a big deal for us but for people staying longer not having a small closet to hang/store clothes could be a bit of a challenge. Also while the market cafe next door sold delicious muffins and a few other breakfast items, we would love to see their menu extended a bit on our next stay. Overall though we loved staying at Olema House and 100% recommend.
Beautiful grounds outside! Nice restaurant next door
Room was uncomfortably hot. No place to hang clothing. No way to make coffee. Free water bottles couldn’t be opened without a proper opener which was not provided by the owners
