I booked this hotel months in advance before my solo trip to Niagara Falls. I showed up to the hotel at 7pm, for the receptionist to tell me that my reservation had been cancelled due to a private function. The receptionist told me they had emailed me once, a week ago to let me know about the cancellation, and when I asked specifically when the email went out, she told me it was Saturday, this conversation happened on Wednesday. The only email I received was an email the day before with a check in email, in which I had completed. They were not able to fit me into a room at all for even one night, therefore having to scramble to find different accomodation, now at 8pm at night. There was no managers available at the time, the lady that was there told me I could come back tomorrow and talk to the manager, but there’s nothing else they could do for me.

They had some property issues on site so they upgraded us to a bigger hotel chain and still honored the price.
Would have liked a heads up about the issues with the room prior to arrival.
This hotel cancelled our booking via email before our check-in however we were already on holiday and hadn't checked our emails so were totally unaware until we called them for an early check-in. We were told that they had cancelled due to maintenance issues so u can imagine our surprise when we passed by on several occasions and saw people (obviously guests) coming and going. At no point were we offered an alternative room and we still have not had a refund despite emailing them. Needless to say we are extremely disappointed.
We arrived the planned day and we have been told our reservation had been cancelled since 10 days. Actually we got a welcome message on the 10th asking to register to Windham ... so no one bothered to inform us there was not the room. We did not understand exactly the reason but it did not matter. We had no problem to find immediately another accomodation elsewhere but it's a matter of principle. We have not been informed timely at all.
