Everyone there was absolutely wonderful! So helpful and just seemed happy to be at work. The hotel itself was beautiful! The room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable! Would definitely stay there again!
It was run-down, they were understaffed and the staff wasnt particularly accommodating. This definitely should not have been a 5-star hotel. 3.5, maybe.
History, beauty
Nothing
Classically beautiful architectural spaces inside. Amazing really. Also great location. Friendly staff. Quiet rooms. Fabulous Thanksgiving dinner in that great space. Guest room corridors were crisp and beautiful.
To live up to a 5 star rating the furniture and fittings are in dire of updating to a luxury level. Same is true of the guest room furniture which is both out dated and worn. Car valet was slow. SF was clean and beautiful contrary to what we were told!
The Garden Court is beautiful but the food is dull. You can also eat here without enduring a stay.
Its no longer a 5 star hotel, only luxury for the historical architectural value. Amenities are fresh out of the 90s. The pool has actual piles of human scum (def not sand). They also no longer have a spa. The staff was also rude.
Beautiful atrium, staff friendly and helpful. Lovely bed and pillows Liked the cocktails in the Pied Piper bar. Carpets smelt newly shampooed.
No means of making a hot drink in the room which we were amazed by. The boxes containing toiletries were empty. Scales didnt work. Lighting poor in room. Inner room so quite dark. Breakfast was very expensive.
Very friendly staff and clean facility.
The per fee was stiff @$150. The morning buffet was underwhelming on quality of food. It was cold and dry on many of the hot dishes. The price of $44 per person was outrageous, it should have been $19 for the quality of food. I expected better for the level of quality expected for staying here at the Palace. It left a bad taste leaving what was an enjoyable stay.
