About the stay

TA-135-102-4640-01 Located along Kaanapali Beach on the island of Maui this all-suite resort features free Wi-Fi. Upscale shopping and dining at Whalers Village is a 5-minute drive away. A full kitchen and separate sitting area with flat-screen TV are available in each suite at OUTRIGGER Honua Kai Resort and Spa. A washing machine and tumble dryer are also provided. The Honua Kai features 3 swimming pools including 1 with a water slide. The resort has water sports equipment snorkel gear and pool floats available for rent. Featuring 2 bars guests can dine a Duke’s Beach House a casual bistro serving Hawaiian food made with local ingredients. Guests can get a cup of coffee or snack from the ‘Aina Gourmet a market and café. The Royal Kaanapali golf course is minutes from the Honua Kai Resort. Awesome location, rooms are well appointed, and amenities are great.

Lack of emergency lighting, emergency protocols, and communication. Our stay was disrupted by the wildfires and the resort staff failed to ensure our safety or ease our safety concerns during this time.

Location is north Kaanapali , wish it was south but thats just me !!!! We will come back if price is right

Size of the room (we had a two bedroom) Front desk staff (very accommodating) Amenities (pools, gym, small convenience store, valet parking) Location (walkable to restaurants and grocery stores but quiet and not overbearingly busy like other areas)

Hard to find a seat by the pools as many people reserve the chairs

Upon check in, went to used couch sofa and found trash (a lot of it) under it. Reported the filth to front desk, took 2 trips to clean before they cleaned correctly (I had to physically flip over couch so they could view the filth under it.

Very clean, friendly staff, Dukes Beach House on property, several pools, nice stretch of beach w reef right off shore for snorkeling

The pool water was a little cloudy- may be from the reef safe sunscreen though
