We had a wonderful stay at the outrigger and hope to return! It’s so peaceful a slice of paradise/heaven!
Need more staff services in the pool bar there was one guy trying to serve the whole time making the cocktails food orders, another girl was there but she ignored people and let him do all the work. I felt sorry for him…
Stayed here for our honeymoon, the resort is so very beautiful. Our room was absolutely perfect, so spacious, clean, beautiful view and comfortable. Absolutely loved it.
The food wasn’t great, would’ve loved to not leave at all but we did to eat lunch and dinner because the food was not good.
To be honest, the view is amazing and the chief reason I chose this place was because it was so close to where the Manta Ray dives were (and also the harbour to take snorkel trips to Captain Cook). It's very easy to get this set up. I have to say the staff at breakfast (and in general everywhere but reception) were really fabulous and friendly and deserve a lot of the rating that I'm giving.
The hotel is quite isolated if you do not rent a car and seemed very expensive for what you get. I imagine it's fine for a sit-by-the-pool and drive-into-town-for-dinner kinda stay, but overall it gets old fast and is very expensive. I also felt there was a lot of "added charges" by the hotel and unreasonable markups, since they have a captive audience at the hotel and there is not much alternatives around. At least I felt slightly gouged and this feels like a management decision rather than god business. Admittedly, many hotels in Hawaii add on these fees to boost profits in a tight industry, but this seemed to be a bit too far at times.
Pool and location
The location was convenient to the airport and other surroundings. The grounds were beautiful and we had an ocean front view which was beautiful. Loved the giant sliding glass door to the balcony.
The beds, although comfortable, we're a little small, like full-size beds and not even queen sized so they were a little undersized
Rooms very nice upgrade for us worth it
A bit of a drive to every where plan to have a car. Service while nice extremely slow. Took an hour to get waters and drink for dinner. Breakfast every morning took over an hour plus. Not many options for food. Issues with check in for some of our travel party upgrades were worse.
Size of my king bed room was nice. Balcony was also very nice with partial ocean view. Pool area looked great although I didn't have a chance to use it due to my limited stay and other commitments.
When we got to our room the toilet seat had pee stain under the toilet seat and the bath tub had a soap stain. Other than that the rest of the room was clean. Not sure what was going on in the room above us but it was very disruptive certain times of the night all three nights. Limited food options so we had to uber to center city area which can take some time.
