Very friendly staff. Excellent food. Excellent location.
Nice and clean room with sea view. Parking is easy to find. Good variety of food for breakfast.
Staff at breakfast hall should improve their way to communicate with customers. It's not advisable if a customer is disoriented reproach with a high voice!
Breakfast was excellent & dealt with very efficiently re covid restrictions
Nothing
The room was great. We had a suite on the fourth floor (70sqm) having a magnificent view on the bay and a huge balcony. We liked the pool and the breakfast room at on the fifth floor. The staff was extremely friendly and the Covid 19 protocol was nearly perfect. We'll come again.
Henderson Park and Hines have acquired among others the Hermes and the adiacent Coral hotel in Agios Nikolaos in June 2020. They started renovating the Coral hotel, so that we had construction noise (jackhammer) from the Coral hotel. Embarrassing when trying to relay at the pool on the fifth floor. I expect that the Hermes hotel is going to be renovated 2021.
it was quiet there; breakfast was nice; the pool with sea water is a great alternative to the beach, especially when the waves are too high; the beach access.
we managed to find only 1 socket which we could use to charge our devices (maybe it's a plus for "unplugged" vacation); even though we refused to get cleaning service during our short stay we were disturbed by it every day; the beach which is directly in front of the hotel is very small and not really nice in terms of entering the water - slippery rocks are all over, so for someone with kids or for unconfident swimmers they would have to make a use of the pool or walk to the sand beach about 7-10 mins; but it's nice to snorkel there though. AC didn't really do its job, for me it wasn't a problem, but for my husband it was a bit annoying; the interior made an impression of being very old, worn out, so there's no feeling of exceptional cleanliness, but it wasn't horrible.
The hotel is well situated being only a 5 minute walk from the centre of town and a 10 minute walk to the nearest sandy beach. The Pool area on the 4th floor was always clean and tidy and well situated for our party who were staying on the fifth floor. The shower over the bath was powerful and there was always hot water at peak times. The air conditioning in the bed room was efficient and fairly quiet when running. Lovely sea view from the bed room balcony.
There were not enough staff in the dining room servery leading to excessive queue's and long waits at meal times. The hot buffet menu was distinctly average and the hot snack menu at the pool bar was not fully included in the All Inclusive price (20% discount on advertised menu price). Generally the hotel was lacking two or three staff at meal times to speed the whole process up and make guests stay more relaxing and comfortable. There were not enough sun loungers at peak times but this may be as a consequence of social distancing regulations ? Long waits at the two lifts due to Covid 19 restrictions on lift occupancy levels. The hotel is in need of a makeover as the bathrooms and other area's of the hotel are starting to look a bit tired. We were led to believe from a local ex-pat that the Hermes along with the adjacent sister hotel the Coral beach have been bought by an American consortium and both will be gutted and upgraded to 5 star hotels. The Coral beach hotel is currently under going this process and the construction noise is clearly audible whilst using the Hermes hotels 4th floor pool terrace and from bed room balconies during day light hours.
Reception staff inkl. Breakfast staff very unfriendly. No good morning not a smile -the servant for tea/coffee was challenged by everything. When asking for the drinks, he was not listening. I think it was to much to keep 3 drinks in mind and to serve them. After a while I gave up and got the drinks myself to avoid his rudeness. I know it would be to efficient to ask the staff to get sugar/ salt by default which would save time, however it was quite interesting to see that there is no effort to be efficient and friendly. The lady who almost throw the food on the plates was the most rude person I have ever Met. The beds are really uncomfortable and the furnitures are Really outdated. The room was not clean at all. Only the towels were changed. Thats it. Really disappointing. Only the bar staff was friendly.
