Naxos is a must-visit Greek island for everyone, couples, friends or families! I spent 3 days here with a group of friends and we had the ultimate island-life girls trip!
Where to stay
I recommend staying near the town of Naxos! Here you'll be centrally located to beaches and the top restaurants and bars on the island. You may need to use a taxi to get around a bit if you don't have a car rental, but there are also great buses that take you from the beaches to town if needed.
Day 1: Agia Anna Beach, Sunset, and Town
After checking in, spend your first day on the island exploring! Head to the beach and go to a beach club to spend some time by the sea, stop by Salt & Sugar for an authentic greek gyro (right by the beach & bus stop) then be sure to make it to Temple of Apollo for a stunning sunset view! After sunset, make your way to Naxos Town for dinner and a night out. Swing Bar was such a hidden gem, filled with unique cocktails and a fun vibe! Then make your way to Toro Rooftop for more cocktails and dancing.
Day 2: Cooking Class
Spend a half day taking part in a cooking class at Basiliko Family Tavern! Just 10 km from Naxos town, this family estate on a traditional Naxos Village offers a 4-hour hands-on cooking experience and one of the best experiences of my whole trip to Greece! We got to explore their family farm, pick veggies to be used in our meal, make incredible Greek dishes from scratch while sipping (unlimited) wine, then toured the property with wine in hand while we waited for the dishes to bake. Upon return, we enjoyed an incredible multi-course traditional Greek meal. We even took part in the classic "White Napkin Party" while dancing and singing at the dinner table, followed by smashing plates and learning Greek dances. Truly the most fun day of our trip to Naxos!
Day 3: Boat Tour
We spent the third day on a full-day boat excursion with Jason Daily Cruises, taking us from Agia Anna beach to Koufonisia Island. With multiple stops along the way, we got to swim, snorkel and skydive in the turquoise waters of the Small Cyclades, complete with a delicious Greek lunch onboard with wine. We of course sang and danced to ABBA almost the entire ride.
