The Zoo’s 17 Galápagos tortoises are now at home at the Fetter Family Galápagos Tortoise Exhibit. When keepers are present, you can pet and occasionally feed the tortoises over a short rock barrier.
At the Conrad Prebys Polar Bear Plunge, you can get closer to polar bears than ever before. Climb aboard an Arctic research helicopter, crawl into a bear den, or measure yourself against the size of a polar bear.
The Harry and Grace Steele Elephant Odyssey is a 7.5-acre habitat and a first-of-its-kind experience.
This area combines the fun of a zoo with the experience of a museum by creating an untamed landscape of animals from the past and present. A leader in animal care and conservation, the San Diego Zoo is at the heart of the San Diego experience.

Impeccable and exciting!
The set up of the animals could be better. More glass would help. We could barely see the Pandas. They are the main attraction.
Der Zoo war schön, aber nichts besonderes im Vergleich zu den großen Zoos und Tierparks in Deutschland. Wenn der Bereich Africa rocks fertig ist, wird es eine schöne neue Attraktion werden.
Bueno
O melhor zoológico do mundo!
The lines were too long for the sky ride so we didn't do it. We think the zoo could improve their maps and directions, instead of having to find a volunteer when you're confused. (The volunteers were VERY nice and always helpful!) Phones or computers throughout would help. More stops on the kangaroo bus would be good. Also, an alphabetical listing of all animals and their map locations would help.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the zoo. The exhibits were amazing. We enjoyed the bus tour and skyfari. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
Despite a huge construction site for new attractions, it was very nice. We first took the bus to get an overview. Then we walked through the zoo, which is divided into continents. Beautifully landscaped, we could immediately see which animals live where due to the division. There is a great diversity of species and we believe the animals were housed appropriately. Since the terrain is very mountainous, it's a bit exhausting, but you can also take the cable car, which was even free on the day we were there. The entrance fee was high class, but we found it ok, but for food, including fast food, the prices were overpriced. Since you should stay here for at least 5-6 hours, you have to accept these prices.
